NORTHFIELD, Ill. — Kraft Foods on Wednesday named a former Bain & Co. executive to the position of EVP strategy, effective Jan. 29.

Sam Rovit succeeds Michael Osanloo, who was named president of Kraft Foods' North American grocery business. Rovit, a 20-year business veteran with global growth and cost leadership strategy experience, will report to chairman and CEO Irene Rosenfeld and be a member of the company's executive team.

STAMFORD, Conn. — Lornamead is bringing new innovation to hair care with its new Finesse Clean + Simple line, the first dermatologist-tested hypoallergenic shampoo and conditioner developed for the mass market.

MINNEAPOLIS — Two leaders of Target have been appointed to the retailer's executive committee.

Tina Schiel, SVP enterprise strategy and new business development, was promoted to EVP stores and will join the executive committee, while Laysha Ward, who will retain her position as Target's community relations president and Target Foundation president, also will join the executive committee.

FLORHAM PARK, N.J. — Former president George W. Bush will deliver the keynote speech at Armada Health Care’s seventh annual Armada Specialty Pharmacy Summit, the specialty pharmacy contracting organization said.

DEERFIELD, Ill. — In a major alliance to foster preventive health in the United States, Walgreens has partnered with the Department of Health and Human Services to provide free flu vaccinations to as many as 350,000 low-income and uninsured Americans.

Walgreens will provide more than $10 million worth of vouchers for free flu shots, which HHS will help distribute.

CINCINNATI — Retail giant Kroger has named a new divisional president, replacing an executive who recently was promoted to SVP retail operations.

Sukanya Madlinger, who worked for Kroger for nearly 25 years, now will be president of the company's Cincinnati/Dayton division — which operates 110 stores in Cincinnati, Dayton, northern Kentucky and southeastern Indiana — replacing Geoffrey Covert. Covert was named SVP retail operations for Kroger after the retirement of Paul Scutt.
