Launched in 2012, the program educates assistant professors from U.S. schools and colleges of pharmacy about designing, implementing and publishing community pharmacy-based patient care research.

Wegmans Food Markets announced that the Wegmans Employee Scholarship Program will award college tuition assistance to 1,880 new recipients for the upcoming 2013/2014 academic year.

ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Wegmans Food Markets on Thursday announced that the Wegmans Employee Scholarship Program will award college tuition assistance to 1,880 new recipients for the upcoming 2013/2014 academic year. This is the largest number of scholarships ever awarded by the program in a single year, the grocer noted. In total, Wegmans expects to pay out $4.8 million in tuition assistance to current and new scholarship recipients during the upcoming school year.

More than 15,300 people attended the 2013 Sweets & Snacks Expo at Chicago's McCormick Place last month, representing a more than 10% increase in attendees over 2012, the organization that sponsors the trade show said.

NEW YORK — More than 15,300 people attended the 2013 Sweets & Snacks Expo at Chicago's McCormick Place last month, representing a more than 10% increase in attendees over 2012, the organization that sponsors the trade show said.

The National Confectioners Association said that the expo, which took place May 21 to 23, included 164 new exhibitors, compared with 140 last year, and sold 157,100 sq. ft. of space, a 9% increase over last year's 144,000 sq. ft. This year, 15,389 industry professionals attended, compared with last year's 14,010.

CINCINNATI — Turkey Hill Dairy president Quintin Frey retired Tuesday, according to Kroger. 

"Quintin has been a great ambassador for the Turkey Hill brand and an important part of the Kroger leadership team," stated David Dillon, Kroger's chairman and CEO. "The Kroger family extends our thanks and best wishes to Quintin and his family."

Frey began his career with Kroger at Turkey Hill Dairy in 1980 as a management trainee. He served in a variety of leadership roles before being promoted to serve as president in 1991.
