BIC, a manufacturer of men’s razors, has developed two new large-pack offerings of the BIC Flex 3 and the BIC Hybrid Advance 3 razors.

SHELTON, Conn. — BIC, a manufacturer of men’s razors, has developed two new large-pack offerings of the BIC Flex 3 and the BIC Hybrid Advance 3 razors.
 
The BIC Flex 3 large pack includes eight disposable razors that have three flexible blades and a heavy handle for added control.

Keurig Green Mountain, recognized for its beverages and Keurig brewing systems, and Peet's Coffee & Tea, a specialty coffee and tea company, announced a manufacturing and distribution agreement. The companies plan to launch a selection of Keurig-licensed Peet's coffee and tea varieties in K-Cup packs by the end of the summer.

WATERBURY, Vt. & EMERYVILLE, Calif. — Keurig Green Mountain, recognized for its beverages and Keurig brewing systems, and Peet's Coffee & Tea, a specialty coffee and tea company, announced a manufacturing and distribution agreement. The companies plan to launch a selection of Keurig-licensed Peet's coffee and tea varieties in K-Cup packs by the end of the summer. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Peet's will continue to roast the beans for its K-Cup packs at its LEED-certified facility in Alameda, Calif.; the roasted beans will be transported to Keurig for grinding and packaging.

ORLANDO, Fla. — Walmart, the Walmart Foundation and the United States Conference of Mayors have launched the $10 million Walmart U.S. Manufacturing Innovation Fund.

Eligible non-profit organizations can apply for grants of $100,000 or more, funded by the Walmart Foundation, to help create solutions to challenges many companies face with on-shoring and growing U.S. manufacturing.

The Food and Drug Administration has found possible violations of agency regulations at a manufacturing plant in India owned by drug maker Ranbaxy Labs, the company said Monday.

GURGAON, India — The Food and Drug Administration has found possible violations of agency regulations at a manufacturing plant in India owned by drug maker Ranbaxy Labs, the company said Monday.

Ranbaxy said it received a Form 483 from the FDA, a statement issued to a company's management after it has inspected a plant and found conditions that may violate the agency's regulations, and that products produced therein could be hazardous to people who use them. The plant in question is in Toansa, in India's Punjab region.

Mylan has acquired rights to an experimental respiratory drug made by Pfizer, Mylan said.

PITTSBURGH — Mylan has acquired rights to an experimental respiratory drug made by Pfizer, Mylan said Wednesday.

The drug maker said it had bought exclusive worldwide development, manufacturing and commercialization rights to the drug, which was not named, but was described as a long-acting muscarinic antagonist about to enter phase-2b, or mid-stage, clinical trials. Mylan said it would develop the drug into combination therapies and that they would use a multidose dry powder inhaler technology, also licensed from Pfizer.

EWING, N.J. — Church & Dwight on Thursday announced plans to expand its gummy vitamin production capacity through the addition of a new production line to be constructed at its manufacturing facility in Pennsylvania. The company will continue to manufacture gummy vitamins at its two facilities in Washington. 

Construction will begin in January 2014 and the line is scheduled to be operational in the first quarter of 2015.

With nearly three decades of food retailing and manufacturing experience, Baker will advance FMI’s commitment to investing in brand equity and strengthening the FMI private brands community, FMI stated.

Baker began his career in the food retail industry in 1984, working at Fry’s Food Stores in Arizona.

Walmart U.S. president and CEO Bill Simon and Secretary of Commerce Penny Pritzker announced at the SelectUSA 2013 Investment Summit on Thursday that three suppliers have made new domestic manufacturing commitments that will create 385 jobs.

WASHINGTON – Walmart U.S. president and CEO Bill Simon and Secretary of Commerce Penny Pritzker announced at the SelectUSA 2013 Investment Summit on Thursday that three suppliers have made new domestic manufacturing commitments that will create 385 jobs. The move is part of the retailer’s previously announced pledge to buy an additional $50 billion in U.S.-made products over the next decade.

Walmart said that Elan-Polo, Louis Hornick & Company and EveryWare Global will produce footwear, curtains and glassware, respectively.

ZAGREB, Croatia — Teva Pharmaceutical Industries is investing more than $100 million in its Croatian division for a plant that will make pills mostly for the international market.

Teva subsidiary Pliva said the new plant, in the capital of Zagreb, would considerably increase its production capacities for tablets and capsules. The company said the new plant would increase the annual manufacturing capacity by more than 25%.
