NEW YORK — A charity for 9/11 victims and their families and victims of terrorism worldwide got a big check from retail pharmacy chain Rite Aid at an event in New York's Grand Central Terminal Wednesday morning.

Rite Aid presented a $15,000 check to Tuesday's Children at its store in the train station, with Rite Aid regional VP Paul Perinetti and Tuesday's Children executive director Terry Sears in attendance. The money came from a two-day event in October in which the retailer delivered flu shots to commuters at the station.

Overall, as many as 11% of adults have reported they have personally been in a situation where a paternity test was appropriate; and nearly 1-in-5 (18%) said that they or a close friend or family member have questioned paternity.

The number of current methamphetamine users decreased from 731,000 people ages 12 years and older (0.3% of the population) in 2006  to 353,000 (0.1%) in 2010.

The APhA Foundation announced Tuesday the appointment of Mindy Smith, who will lead the foundation’s operations, research objectives and strategic direction, providing support and guidance to the board of directors and monitoring pharmacy trends. Smith currently is CEO of the Arizona Pharmacy Alliance and previously served as executive director of the Wyoming Pharmacy Association.
