L'Oréal USA supports young women through annual Role Model program

L'Oréal USA hosted 14 high school and 32 college students at its Fifth Avenue headquarters during spring break as part of its support for the New York Coalition of One Hundred Black Women's annual Role Model Program.

NEW YORK — L'Oréal USA hosted 14 high school and 32 college students at its Fifth Avenue headquarters during spring break as part of its support for the New York Coalition of One Hundred Black Women's annual Role Model Program. 

This initiative allows young women to learn practical workplace skills and to shadow professional women in their chosen careers for one week during spring semester break.

Costco launches PBM

Costco has entered the pharmacy benefit management business, according to published reports.

NEW YORK — Costco has entered the pharmacy benefit management business, according to published reports.

In an article in the January 2013 issue of Costco Connection magazine, the club warehouse retailer is promoting the new PBM, Costco Health Solutions, to small business owners. Pharmaceutical industry consultant Adam Fein noted on his blog, Drug Channels, that Costco was seeking to emulate the tactics already used by CVS Caremark, Walgreens and Walmart to drive prescription growth.

Hy-Vee launches mobile shopping app

Hy-Vee has introduced a mobile application that it said could make locating pie crust in its stores as easy as saying "pie."

WEST DES MOINES, Iowa — Hy-Vee has introduced a mobile application that it said could make locating pie crust in its stores as easy as saying "pie."

The supermarket chain announced the release of the app, which allows customers to locate products, browse ads, search for recipes, build shopping lists, shop and interact with the company through social media. The app is built on the AT&T Mobile Enterprise Applications Platform and uses Taqtile Mobility's Shingle solution.
