SAN RAMON, Calif. — Fever-Tree has expanded its lineup of premium mixers.

Naturally light ginger beer and sparkling lemon join the brand's portfolio, which currently includes such flavors as Indian tonic water, naturally light tonic Water, Mediterranean tonic water, club soda, bitter lemon, ginger ale and ginger beer.

CHICAGO — Acadia Ales has launched its Sky High Rye, a West Coast-style pale ale, in 12-oz. cans from Rexam.

Sky High Rye, brewed with 80% English barley malt and 20% rye malt, was launched in Rexam aluminum cans because of their portability and accessibility, the company said, adding that "consumers will no longer be limited by the restrictions of a glass container, which ultimately makes Sky High Rye more accessible to [our] loyal fans."

BROOMFIELD, Colo. — Avery Brewing has tapped can manufacturer Ball to create unique packaging for Avery's brands.

The company said it partnered with Ball's Graphics Center of Excellence and utilized the latter's Eyeris Enhanced Graphics printing technique to create a 360-degree miniature billboard with every can for distinctive, on-the-shelf differentiation of Avery's brands, including India Pale Ale, White Rascal, Ellie's Brown Ale and Joe's Premium American Pilsner.

While craft brews represent 4.9% of total beer category volume, the segments accounts for 7.6% of retail dollar volume.

Anheuser-Busch has launched the first seasonal offering under its Shock Top craft beer label. Shock Top Pumpkin Wheat, a traditional Belgian-style wheat ale brewed with pumpkins and autumnal spices, will be available until January 2012 in six-packs and 12-oz. bottles.

A-B also is launching the brand’s first sampler pack, including the original Shock Top Belgian White, Shock Top Pumpkin Wheat and Shock Top Raspberry Wheat. Sales of the Shock Top brand have been ahead 77% for the first half of the year, according to A-B.

BOSTON — Beers that were highlighted in Samuel Adams' annual homebrew contest last year now are available in a six-pack.

The company said that the 2011 Samuel Adams LongShot American Homebrew Contest - Category 23 Variety six-pack has hit store shelves. The variety pack includes two bottles each of Richard Roper's Friar Hop Ale, Rodney Kibzey's Blackened Hops and Caitlin DeClercq's Honey B's Lavender Wheat, which all were named winners in Samuel Adams LongShot American Homebrew Contest in 2010.

An American-style rye ale, the new beer is a deep, reddish-hued ale, brewed with both rye and roasted malt for a spicy character, the company said.

Samuel Adams Revolutionary Rye now is available as part of the new Samuel Adams American Originals variety pack for a suggested retail price of $13.99 to $15.99 per 12-pack.
