CARLISLE, Pa. — An Ahold USA executive has received honors from a New England business publication.

Ahold USA announced Tuesday that EVP and CFO Paula Price was named 2012 CFO of the Year in the public company category by the Boston Business Journal and was honored at the newspaper's annual luncheon last Wednesday. Ahold USA, a subsidiary of Netherlands-based Royal Ahold, operates the Stop & Shop, Giant-Landover and Giant-Carlisle supermarket chains and the Peapod online grocery service.

Morningstar names Costco's Jim Sinegal CEO of the Year

Investment research firm Morningstar has named the outgoing CEO of Costco Wholesale as its 2011 CEO of the Year, the company said Wednesday.

CHICAGO — Investment research firm Morningstar has named the outgoing CEO of Costco Wholesale as its 2011 CEO of the Year, the company said Wednesday.

Costco CEO Jim Sinegal, who retired on New Year's Day, received the recognition for what Morningstar called his "exemplary corporate stewardship, independent thinking" and creating "lasting value for shareholders."

PHOENIX — The Apothecary Shops founder and CEO John Musil was named CEO of the Year among leaders of private companies at the Arizona Corporate Excellence Awards, The Apothecary Shops said Monday.

The awards, presented by The Business Journal and now in their ninth year, recognize private companies and their CEOs based on growth of their business, innovative approaches, community involvement, dedication to employees and leadership accomplishments.
