Report: CVS Caremark contributes $1.2 billion to Rhode Island economy

CVS Caremark on Tuesday released an economic impact study of its contribution to the economy of its headquarters state of Rhode Island.

WOONSOCKET, R.I. — CVS Caremark on Tuesday released an economic impact study of its contribution to the economy of its headquarters state of Rhode Island.

The Pricewaterhouse Coopers-conducted study showed that the company's Rhode Island operations contributed more than $1.2 billion to Rhode Island's gross domestic product in 2010, approximately 12,000 jobs, $831 million in labor income, and $116 million in state and local taxes.

CVS Caremark’s MinuteClinic has entered a clinical affiliation with Carolinas HealthCare System, which provides medical services at more than 650 care locations in North and South Carolina. The collaboration includes 16 MinuteClinic locations in the greater Charlotte area.

The tender offer commenced on Nov. 29 and expired on Dec. 7.  Based on the final tabulation provided by the information agent for the tender offer, D.F. King & Co., holders of the notes tendered $957.7 million aggregate principal amount of the notes on or prior to the expiration date.
