LONDON — A worldwide provider of managed videoconferencing, telepresence and visual collaboration services has partnered with Telemed Ventures to deliver a managed visual collaboration solution to Walmart's retail medical clinics.

EL SEGUNDO, Calif. — MarcasUSA on Thursday announced the U.S. debut of Conazol, a leading over-the-counter athlete's foot treatment in Mexico.

Among retail pharmacy operations, Walgreens enjoyed the greatest brand equity among consumers based on top consumer scores in "familiarity" and "purchase consideration" categories. Overall, Walgreens' brand equity was tabulated at 69.9, CVS/pharmacy came in at 67.4 and Rite Aid 62.5.

NEW YORK — Club retailer Costco Wholesale is looking to grow its online retail presence, according to published reports.

According to The Seattle Times, the company plans to introduce apps for Apple and Android devices this month in order to boost its online sales, which, at about $2 billion a year, are behind companies like Walmart and Amazon.

Citing industry statistics, The Seattle Times reported that Costco ranked 17th among online retailers, while Amazon had the top spot, and Walmart was fourth.

CHICAGO — The Network of Executive Women is honoring Mike Duke, president and CEO of Wal-Mart Stores, with its William J. Grize Diversity Hall of Fame Award, on June 28 during Women's Day at the LPGA in Rogers, Ark. The award, named after the late CEO of Ahold USA, who was an early advocate of industry diversity, is bestowed upon industry leaders who have demonstrated "an enduring commitment to the advancement of women and to creating a diverse and inclusive workplace," NEW announced.

A lot of retailers offer screenings for everything from diabetes to allergies, but what sets Sam’s Club apart is the scale on which it delivers them. The club retailer offers screenings for everything from heart health and women’s health to diabetes. In a recent interview with Drug Store News, director of business development for health and wellness Angie Muldoon said that the company had conducted more than 1 million screenings in 2011.


“We want to make sure we’re talking to our members where and how they want to be spoken to.”

LUBBOCK, Texas — Sam's Club is expanding its presence in western Texas with the opening of a newly relocated store.

The new club, located in Lubbock, Texas, measures approximately 136,000 sq. ft. — about one-third larger than the previous Sam's Club location — and has a more convenient location for the public due to easier vehicular access in and out of the club and ample parking. The new club will open April 19.
