Walmart is bringing Americans some much-wanted relief at the pump this fall and winter with the return of its "Great Gas Rollback" program.

BENTONVILLE, Ark. — Walmart is bringing Americans some much-wanted relief at the pump this fall and winter with the return of its "Great Gas Rollback" program.

Beginning Aug. 31 and ending Dec. 24, Walmart customers using a Walmart gift card will receive a 10 cent per gallon discount. Customers who use a Walmart MoneyCard or Walmart credit card will save 15 cents per gallon on their fuel purchase.

Gas will be discounted at more than 1,000 Murphy USA and Walmart gas stations located at Walmart Supercenters in participating states.

ATLANTA — SoloHealth announced that the number of consumer interactions made at its SoloHealth Station health-and-wellness kiosks has surpassed 2.5 million.

The data — which have been compiled since January 2011 across approximately 200 kiosks currently in select Walmart, Safeway, Publix, CVS, Sam’s Club and Schnuck's Markets locations — also included the following results:

  • Each consumer spends an average of four minutes per session with the kiosk;

The nation’s largest retailer is expanding an in-store healthcare initiative involving 10 types of immunizations administered at its stores through Nov. 15.

BENTONVILLE, Ark. — The nation’s largest retailer is expanding an in-store healthcare initiative involving 10 types of immunizations administered at its stores through Nov. 15.

Walmart said it is working with Mollen Immunization Clinics to provide 10 of the immunizations recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention at 2,700 stores. In addition, the company said flu and pneumonia vaccines would be available at all 3,800 stores with pharmacies.

SAN DIEGO — Walmart has unveiled its 100th solar-powered store in San Diego. By working with California-based SolarCity, the company’s focus on solar power has generated more than 3,000 contract construction jobs in California. In turn, SolarCity has hired 1,213 employees since announcing its first Walmart projects in September 2010. The San Mateo, Calif.-based company will install, manage and maintain 70-of-the-100 new solar power systems.

BENTONVILLE, Ark. — Wal-Mart Stores said in an emailed statement that the co-heads of its technology unit, @WalmartLabs, are leaving the company.

Venky Harinarayan and Anand Rajaraman, who ran the 200-person unit in San Bruno, Calif., are taking some time off from the industry, according to the statement. The pair took the helm of @WalmartLabs when the retailer bought their company Kosmix last year.

Wal-Mart said the rest of the technology team will remain intact.

shaving scissors segment undoubtedly is a shining star among guys.


Sales of grooming/shaving scissors at food, drug and mass (excluding Walmart) soared nearly 24% to almost $360 million during the 52 weeks ended April 15, according to SymphonyIRI Group.
