MINNEAPOLIS — Nash Finch, a Minneapolis-based food distributor, has announced that Kevin Elliott has been appointed EVP, president and COO of Nash Finch Wholesale/Retail.

Elliott previously served as SVP of merchandising, logistics and marketing at 7-Eleven. Elliott worked at 7-Eleven from 2001 to 2010, where he was responsible for overseeing the corporate store and franchise operations as well as 7-Eleven’s national distribution network comprised of 26 distribution centers.

More than 1,000 women and men attended the event, the largest in the organization's 11-year history.

PARK CITY, Utah — Park City Group, a provider of consumer goods supply chain technology, has tapped food industry insiders Austin Noll Jr. and Richard Juliano to serve on its board. Peter Brennan, who has served on the board since 2009, has announced his retirement from the board for personal reasons. All moves are effective immediately.

The group represents all areas of the retail grocery, convenience, foodservice and discount channels, as well as trading partners and industry groups.

GREEN BAY, Wis. — Shopko announced Wednesday that Mike Bettiga has been named interim CEO to replace Paul Jones, who resigned to pursue another opportunity.

Bettiga is a 35-veteran of the company and most recently served as EVP and COO, a role he has held since April 2009. He began his career with Shopko as a pharmacist in 1977, and has held a number of positions during his tenure, including executive leadership of store, pharmacy and optical operations, retail health merchandising and responsibility for the Shopko Express stores.

Tyler succeeds Marc Owen, who joined McKesson Specialty Health as president earlier this year. ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, Fla. — BioPlus Specialty Pharmacy has appointed a new SVP to support the company's growth, the specialty pharmacy provider said.

The company announced the appointment of Elvin Montanez, PharmD, as SVP, saying he would contribute to BioPlus's development and implementation of growth strategies, noting that he had worked in leadership positions in health care for 20 years.

NORTH MANCHESTER, Ind. — Manchester College is looking for a new leader for its pharmacy school, the private university's president said Tuesday.

The school's vice president and founding dean, Philip Medon, has resigned for health-related reasons, prompting the university to launch a nationwide search for a new dean. Medon joined the school last year. The school currently has 23 faculty and offers a four-year professional doctoral program. Classes are set to begin in August 2012.

PHOENIX — GMDC members elected two new board members to serve in two-year terms on their board of directors, the association announced Tuesday — Mike Petocchi, business group manager HBC/cosmetics with Wegmans Food Markets and former GMDC chairman Jim Wonderly, VP grocery non-foods/GM Ahold USA.

Additionally, Curtis Maki, VP HBC/GM program management and pharmacy with Topco Associates, was re-elected to serve another two-year term. Maki also will serve as the co-chairman of the Membership Advisory Board.

It's about time lawmakers start to understand the real threats posed by drug reimportation and unlicensed Internet pharmacy sites. About 20% of the current members of Congress are newly elected, and there is this recurring, cyclical fascination among politicians that we can fix everything with drug reimportation. But mandating electronic track and trace right now is a bad idea.

WHAT IT MEANS AND WHY IT'S IMPORTANT — It's about time lawmakers start to understand the real threats posed by drug reimportation and unlicensed Internet pharmacy sites. The president of Par Pharmaceutical's subsidiary announced his resignation on Monday.

WOODCLIFF LAKE, N.J. — The president of Par Pharmaceutical's subsidiary announced his resignation on Monday.

John MacPhee, who served as president of Strativa and Par EVP, will leave the company, effective Jan. 31, to pursue other interests.

Patrick LePore, Par's president, chairman and CEO, will assume day-to-day oversight of Strativa on an interim basis.

ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Kodak announced Wednesday that its board of directors promoted three executives.

Laura Quatela, chief intellectual property officer, and Terry Taber, chief technical officer, were named SVPs this week. Quatela, who also assumes the role of general counsel, will add SVP to her title on Jan. 1. Taber's election is effective immediately.

Kodak's board also elected Timothy Lynch — who currently serves as managing director of intellectual property transactions — as a VP of the company, effective immediately.
