BRIDGEWATER, N.J. — Matrixx Initiatives recently named Lori Norian VP marketing for the Zicam Cold Remedy brand. 

Norian previously worked at Unilever and has worked on popular products including Hellman’s, Ragu, Bertolli and Altoids. Norian said she believes her experience translates well to the cold remedy brand, which is targeted primarily to women.

“Knowing how to tap into consumers’ needs and develop resonant messaging and communications strategies is the key to driving further growth for Zicam,” Norian said.

Promotions were up across the front-end over the first half of 2013 as compared with the corresponding year-ago period, and digital coupons have continued to sustain double-digit growth as more marketers adopt a digital strategy and more retailers employ an omnichannel loyalty program to attract and retain customers.

LIVONIA, Mich. — Promotions were up across the front-end over the first half of 2013 as compared with the corresponding year-ago period. Couponing across non-food items were up 1.8%, according to the U.S. Mid-year 2013 CPG Coupon Industry Facts Report released Tuesday by NCH Marketing Services, a Valassis subsidiary.

Overall, consumers saved $1.8 billion in the first six months of 2013.

Anda VP purchasing Marc Falkin wrote in an email to coworkers and friends that he would begin working for Actavis as VP marketing, pricing and contract operations for the Parsippany, N.J.-based drug maker's generics business.

WESTON, Fla. — One of Anda's executives is moving to Actavis after 12 years at Anda.

Anda VP purchasing Marc Falkin has announced that he is leaving the company, and will join Actavis as VP marketing, pricing and contract operations for the Parsippany, N.J.-based drug maker's generics business. Anda executive director of purchasing Anthony Mihelich will assume Falkin's responsibilities in the interim.

CHATSWORTH, Calif. — The maker of a line of 3-D kiosks is installing them at 200 Rite Aid stores in New York and Los Angeles after the completion of a 10-store pilot program last year.

Provision Interactive Technologies said Tuesday that it had entered a multi-year deal with Rite Aid to install its 3-D Reward Centers, which generate 3-D holographic videos, information about the Wellness+ loyalty card program and promotions.
