NACDS' Jim Huber to retire; David Fitzsimmons named SVP, finance and administration

The National Association of Chain Drug Stores announced on Wednesday that Jim Huber, EVP and CFO of NACDS, is retiring after 25 years of service.

ALEXANDRIA, Va. — The National Association of Chain Drug Stores announced on Wednesday that Jim Huber, EVP and CFO of NACDS, is retiring after 25 years of service. He will be succeed by David Fitzsimmons has been promoted to SVP of finance and administration.  

Fitzsimmons currently serves as VP finance and accounting. He will succeed Huber effective Dec. 21, 2012.

Giant-Landover donated 1,000 turkeys to a nearby food bank last week to help families in need enjoy Thanksgiving, the Ahold-owned chain said.

LANDOVER, Md. — Giant-Landover donated 1,000 turkeys to a nearby food bank last week to help families in need enjoy Thanksgiving, the Ahold-owned chain said.

The chain, officially known as Giant Food and based in Landover, Md., sent President Anthony Hucker and VP Finance Brian Shelton to the Capital Area Food Bank to present 1,000 turkeys on Friday. Shelton is also a board member of the food bank.

CDMA announces executive appointments

Chain Drug Marketing Association has named a VP finance and store brands, as well as a new director of business development.

NOVI, Mich. — Chain Drug Marketing Association has named a VP finance and store brands, as well as a new director of business development.

John Devine, who will serve as VP finance and store brands, has been involved with projects and programs at CDMA for the past 15 years. In his new role, he will be responsible for increasing and enhancing the success of CDMA's store brand program. Devine will report to CDMA president Jim Devine.

Eisai promotes Shaji Procida to finance chief

The U.S. pharmaceutical subsidiary of Eisai has promoted one of its executives.

WOODCLIFF LAKE, N.J. — The U.S. pharmaceutical subsidiary of Eisai has promoted one of its executives.

Shaji Procida, who previously served as VP finance of Eisai Inc., has been appointed to serve as VP and CFO. In her elevated role, she will have oversight and responsibility for all of Eisai's financial operations in the United States and also will continue to serve as a member of the company's executive committee. Procida has worked at the drug maker since 1998.

Publix promotes DiGrazia to VP finance

Publix has promoted one of its executives.

LAKELAND, Fla. — Publix has promoted one of its executives.

Gino DiGrazia, who currently serves as VP and controller of Publix's business analysis and reporting, has been promoted to VP finance. In addition to his current responsibilities for business analysis and reporting, DiGrazia assumes many of the responsibilities previously held by Kelly Underhill, director of tax and treasury, who retired from Publix on March 30.

FORT WORTH, Texas — Regional specialty pharmacy chain ReCept has appointed several people to new executive positions, the company said Wednesday.

ReCept, which owns 15 stores in Texas and specializes in compounding pharmacy services for people with such conditions as HIV/AIDS and cancer, announced the appointments of Nicky Otts as chairman and CEO, Carmine DeNardo as president and COO, Rob Jarvis as EVP sales and chief marketing officer, Jeff Brumbaugh as chief information officer and Stephanie Romero as VP finance.
