Bausch + Lomb announced that it has filed a registration statement with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission to take the company public.

ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Bausch + Lomb on Friday announced that it has filed a registration statement with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission to take the company public. The number of shares to be offered and the price range for the proposed offering have not yet been determined, the company stated. 

The proposed IPO could raise as much as $1.5 billion and is expected to value Bausch & Lomb at about $9 billion to $10 billion, Reuters reported earlier in March.

As SVP store concepts, De Fazio joins a team that includes Troy Risch, who came to RadioShack from Target as EVP operations in December, and Huey Long, formerly of Wal-Mart and now RadioShack EVP strategy and consumer insights who also signed with RadioShack in December.

Coty has filed to raise as much as $700 million in an initial public offering.

NEW YORK — Coty has filed to raise as much as $700 million in an initial public offering. The filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission comes about a month after the beauty company dropped its bid for Avon because of Avon’s “delay and unwillingness to engage in discussions.”

In the filing, Coty told the SEC that it intends to list the Class A common stock on either the NASDAQ or the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol “COTY.” Coty did not reveal how many shares it plans to sell or their expected price.

NEW YORK — Former Duane Reade CFO William Tennant was sentenced to three years of probation for his securities fraud conviction in June 2010, according to published reports.

Tennant, convicted of one count of securities fraud, was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Deborah Batts in a hearing Tuesday in a Manhattan federal court.

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — Global Market Development Center on Thursday announced that its 2011 HBW Conference, which will be held in Phoenix from Sept. 9 to 12, will feature the Senior Executive Conference for the sixth time.

The SEC format helps foster business development opportunities and consists of 40-minute appointments that took place in more relaxed venues than the traditional controlled casual conferences.

This year, as many as 60 member companies have registered to participate, GMDC said.

PITTSBURGH — Thomas Dowd has been named GNC EVP, chief merchandising officer and general manager, the company announced in a Securities and Exchange Commission filing Friday.

Dowd has served as EVP store operations and development since April 2007.

The move follows the announcement in June that Beth Kaplan would be stepping down from her role as GNC president and chief merchandising officer. Following that announcement, GNC CEO Joe Fortunato reassumed his role of president.
