The Consumer Healthcare Products Association on Wednesday applauded the Pennsylvania legislature and Gov. Tom Corbett for passage of House Bill 602, legislation requiring real-time, stop-sale technology to enable retailers to block illegal pseudoephedrine purchases at the point of sale.

Sponsored by state Rep. Marguerite Quinn, R-Bucks, the Keystone state is the 29th state to utilize the National Precursor Log Exchange in its fight against the illegal diversion of cold and allergy medicines containing PSE to manufacture methamphetamine.

HARRISBURG, Pa. — Wine and liquor next year may be available for sale in retail outlets, including pharmacy, across Pennsylvania. 

Pa. Gov. Tom Corbett on Tuesday submitted the spending plan for the 2013/2014 state budget, which includes a provision to replace the more than 600 state liquor stores with twice as many privately run liquor and wine stores, according to an AP report published Tuesday by the Patriot News

A group that lobbies on behalf of independent pharmacies is urging Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Corbett to sign a bill that would allow retail pharmacies to match the reimbursement terms, pricing and conditions that mail-order pharmacies negotiate exclusively with health insurance plans.

ALEXANDRIA, Va. — A group that lobbies on behalf of independent pharmacies is urging Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Corbett to sign a bill that would allow retail pharmacies to match the reimbursement terms, pricing and conditions that mail-order pharmacies negotiate exclusively with health insurance plans.

The National Community Pharmacists Association expressed hopes that Corbett would sign S.B. 201, which the Pennsylvania state Senate and House have unanimously approved.
