NextGen Healthcare Information Systems on Wednesday announced a telemedicine agreement with Nipro Diagnostics that would enable users of the company's NextGen Ambulatory EHR instant access to data points captured by patients at home who are using the Nipro TrueResult blood-glucose monitoring system.

BOSTON — Joslin Diabetes Center and American Well will collaborate on a telehealth initiative that seeks to improve and expand diabetes patients' access to high-quality care.

The telehealth services will be powered by American Well's Online Care technology and will "[apply] a transformative healthcare innovation in support of our mission of improving the lives of people struggling with this disease," Joslin Diabetes Center president and CEO John Brooks said.

FAIRFIELD, Conn., and SANTA CLARA, Calif. — A new joint healthcare venture between GE and Intel was launched on Monday, and both companies promise it will improve the quality of life for seniors.

The new company, called Intel-GE Care Innovations, “will develop technologies that support healthy, independent living at home and in senior housing communities,” both firms said. Care Innovations already has installed an executive team and board of managers “to support the new company’s transition and future growth,” according to the statement.
