“Charlie has overseen the growth and development of our supply chain network and has been a valued part of our team,” stated Howard Levine, Family Dollar chairman and CEO. “We appreciate the contributions Charlie has made to the company’s success, and we wish him all the best in his future endeavors.”

Healthcare supply chain software maker Supplylogix has appointed Denys Ashby as director of retail chain sales, the company said Monday.

WESTLAKE, Texas — Healthcare supply chain software maker Supplylogix has appointed Denys Ashby as director of retail chain sales, the company said Monday.

Ashby, formerly head of retail chain pharmacy sales at pharmacy automation systems maker Innovation Associates, will lead Supplylogix's sales and business development activity within the retail chain pharmacy market.

The New York Times on Monday featured a story on those recovery efforts, noting that in addition to shutting down shipping terminals Hurricane Sandy impacted warehouses and distribution centers and slowed down delivers across the Northeast as delivery drivers contended with closed roads and gasoline shortages.

CINCINNATI — Kroger has become a member of the U.S. Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Million Dollar Club. The USHCC Million Dollar Club recognizes corporations that are leaders in supplier diversity and integrating Hispanic business enterprises into their strategic sourcing and procurement process. Corporations qualify by spending between $25 million to more than $500 million with Hispanic suppliers in the previous year.

This is Kroger's third consecutive year of qualifying for membership.

Slone will join Walgreens May 16 and will report to Walgreens president of community management Mark Wagner.

Sears Holdings announced that former UPS executive Raj Penkar is joining the company as SVP and president of the company's supply chain.

HOFFMAN ESTATES, Ill. — Sears Holdings announced that former UPS executive Raj Penkar is joining the company as SVP and president of the company's supply chain.

In his new role, Penkar will be accountable for all aspects of the company's supply chain, including logistics, warehousing, inventory management and distribution. Prior to joining Sears, Penkar worked at UPS for 24 years and most recently served as president of UPS' customer solutions division.

NORTHFIELD, Ill. — A Procter & Gamble executive will join Kraft Foods in September as its EVP supply chain, Kraft announced Thursday.

Daniel Myers — who succeeds David Brearton, now EVP and CFO of Kraft — most recently served as P&G's VP product supply, leading the supply chain function for the company's global hair care business, as well as coordination responsibilities for P&G's beauty and grooming business, including manufacturing operations that supported sales in more than 170 countries.

BATTLE CREEK, Mich. — A former PepsiCo executive has joined Kellogg's as its new SVP global supply chain.

Steven Sterling, who most recently served as group VP operations for Pepsi's Frito-Lay division, joined Kellogg's on Friday. He will serve as a member of the company's executive leadership team and report to Kellogg president and CEO John Bryant.
