BOULDER, Colo. — Now 10 years operating its unique footprint in the shadow of the Rocky Mountains, Pharmaca Integrative Pharmacy has been revving its growth engine lately. Pharmaca is targeting three new store openings in 2011, and between three and six new stores each year through 2015 — a pace that would put the chain at 44 locations in time for its 15th anniversary. “We will be expanding outside of the states in which we currently operate in the future,” said Mark Panzer, Pharmaca president and CEO.

According to the report, Shaw’s has been on the block for several months with no takers. Many bids from private-equity firms actually came in below the asking price.

Supervalu on Wednesday announced that it has entered into a stock purchase agreement for the sale of Total Logistic Control to Ryder Integrated Logistics.

MINNEAPOLIS — Supervalu on Wednesday announced that it has entered into a stock purchase agreement for the sale of Total Logistic Control — a wholly owned subsidiary that provides logistics and supply chain management solutions to manage distribution, warehousing and transportation operations for food, beverage and consumer packaged goods companies — to Ryder Integrated Logistics.

Subject to closing conditions and regulatory approvals, the sale is expected to close Dec. 31.

MINNEAPOLIS — A 20-year veteran at Supervalu will become a senior counselor outside of the company for one year.

David Boehnen, who as EVP was responsible for legal, business development, real estate and store development, as well as government affairs, will leave his post at the retailer but will serve as a senior counselor for Supervalu president and CEO Craig Herkert for one year.

The change is effective Dec. 15.

STILLWATER, Minn. — A Supervalu subsidiary is getting into the holiday spirit with a new campaign that gives back to the communities it serves.

Through its Giving Thanks holiday program, Cub Foods will sell $1, $5 and $10 “Giving Thanks” coupons. With the funds raised, the supermarket chain will donate gift cards to local food banks or agencies in time to provide a Thanksgiving or holiday meal to families.

The program offers a variety of resources to make life easier for customers living with diabetes, including educational materials, health screening tests, group and individual diabetes education and training programs, medication management consultations, nutrition information, dietary tools, products and other services.
