Dean Foods has entered into a definitive agreement to sell its Morningstar Foods division to Saputo for $1.45 billion.

DALLAS — Dean Foods has entered into a definitive agreement to sell its Morningstar Foods division to Saputo for $1.45 billion.

Morningstar Foods is a manufacturer of dairy and nondairy extended-shelf-life and cultured products, including creams and creamers, ice cream mixes, whipping cream, aerosol whipped toppings, iced coffee, half and half, value-added milks, sour cream and cottage cheese.

Smith's introduces all-natural sour cream

Smith's has launched its latest sour cream product.

ORRVILLE, Ohio — Smith's has launched its latest sour cream product.

Smith's all-natural sour cream is made with grade A and pasteurized milk and cream, and the product also is gluten-free and KO Kosher-certified. Smith's all-natural sour cream also touts 60 calories per 2-tablespoon serving.

Smith's all-natural sour cream is packaged in 16-oz. containers at suggested retail pricing of $2.29 to $2.49.

Friendship is updating its look and taking it to supermarket aisles.

FRIENDSHIP, N.Y. — Friendship is updating its look and taking it to supermarket aisles.

The brand, which is part of Dean Foods, said it has adorned its family of products with new colorful packages. What's more, Friendship's iconic dove is much more prominent on the package, giving the brand an unmistakable presence on shelf, Friendship said.

Friendship is a maker of all-natural dairy products, including cottage cheese, sour cream, farmer cheese and buttermilk.
