Evol Foods is marketing its line of natural and organic frozen meals and snacks through Target stores around the country, the company said Tuesday.

BOULDER, Colo. — Evol Foods is marketing its line of natural and organic frozen meals and snacks through Target stores around the country, the company said Tuesday.

The Boulder, Colo.-based packaged-food maker said it would promote the products by offering discounts, which started Sunday and will run through June 15, allowing customers to purchase two frozen entree bowls for $7 and two frozen burritos for $4.

The company said it has reintroduced its limited-edition flavor line. New to the portfolio this year are chocolate peanut butter kettlecorn and dark fudge peppermint kettlecorn. What's more, Popcorn, Indiana has added more flavors to its year-round lineup: almond biscotti popcorn and roasted peanut caramel popcorn. The new varieties are all natural, gluten free, contain whole grains and have zero trans fats, cholesterol or preservatives.

Martin's Food Markets, part of the Ahold USA's Giant-Carlisle chain, announced it had partnered with the Richmond City Health District and Greater Richmond Fit4Kids in launching "Healthy Ideas" checkout lanes at the stores. Becker said consumers are snacking more frequently during the day and often are reaching for more substantial, healthier snacks.

Research from The Hartman Group indicated that for millennial consumers, the lines between meals have blurred, and “three squares” a day are being replaced by smaller, more frequent meals.
