SEATTLE — Seattle's Best Coffee is making a foray into the instant and single-serve coffee markets.

The brand, owned by Seattle-based coffee chain Starbucks, is introducing single-serve K-Cup packs for Keurig coffee makers, two new roast and ground-medium roast blends, House Blend, Breakfast Blend and Instant Lattes. The single-serve market is worth about $1.8 billion, while the instant market is worth about $740 million, according to IRI Group data.

SEATTLE — Bartell Drugs has increased its store count by two following the purchase of two pharmacies.

The Seattle-based regional chain announced the purchase of the pharmacies — in Everett and Marysville, Wash. — from The Everett Clinic. Bartell will begin operating them on June 10, bringing its total number of stores to 60.

SEATTLE — Bartell Drugs will build its 59th store in one of Seattle's fastest-growing neighborhoods, the regional retail pharmacy chain said Wednesday.

Bartells said it would open the store in the South Lake Union neighborhood, home to a growing number of residents and also Amazon's headquarters.

BELLEVUE, Wash. — Maria Stipp has stepped into a new role at Coinstar, the company announced Monday.

Stipp, who will serve as Coinstar's chief customer officer, joins the company from Activision's owned properties global business unit, where she served as EVP and general manager.

At Coinstar, Stipp will report to company CEO Paul Davis. Coinstar's interim chief customer officer, Tim Hale, will continue in a sales management role at Coinstar.

Orders placed by Dec. 3 on Drugstore.com and its sister site, Beauty.com, for $49 or more will receive free shipping with arrival by Dec. 24 when sent to APO/FPO/DPO addresses. The company was motivated to do the promotion as its customers in the military and foreign service have said it is difficult to find essential products when they are far away from home.
