Old Bay said when consumers download Blippar and "blip" Old Bay logos and packaging, it gives consumers access to 3-D interactive games, including Whack-A-Crab and Duckpin Bowling, as well as Old Bay recipes, such as snack mix, crispy wings, shrimp scampi and more. The brand's launch of Blippar marks the first use of this technology in the U.S. consumer products sector.

The mass merchandise retail chain announced that it would require suppliers to follow guidelines for farmed and wild-caught seafood; most of the seafood the chain sells comes from farms, as is the case with most of the industry, the company said.

Big Y’s first Groupon offer, distributed among Springfield, Mass., subscribers on June 7, was for a newly introduced Shellfish Grill Pack, including lobster tails, mussels, clams and other seafood suitable for grilling, which retails at $39.99 and is being offered at a 40% discount for $24.

StarKist named In-Soo Cho as president and CEO of the company. Prior to joining StarKist, Cho was the principal of his own consulting firm, Insight & Strategy, with a focus on consumer goods and the restaurant industry.

Cho will assume his new office on March 1.

Gorton's Seafood and Ortega Mexican Food Products, a B&G Foods brand, have teamed up to create a co-branded website and an online food contest. At WeLoveFishTacos.com, fish taco enthusiasts are given the opportunity to show off their favorite recipes by using Gorton's and Ortega products, and can share them on Facebook, Twitter and other social media outlets. As part of its online contest, one finalist will win a trip to Playa del Carmen, Mexico.
