According to the Chicago Tribune, Hillshire, backed by an enhanced marketing and advertising campaign, will offer new easy-to-heat breakfast bowls, quesadillas, burritos and egg sandwiches.

New Sara Lee pound cake slices include six slices per package (each slice is individually wrapped) with no cutting required and are available in original and double chocolate flavors. Each serving touts 160 calories and 180 calories, respectively.

NEW YORK — Campbell's North America division president Sean Connolly will take the helm at Sara Lee's North American retail and foodservice business, the companies said Friday.

Sara Lee said Connolly will serve as CEO of MeatCo, effective Jan. 17, following Sara Lee's planned spinoff of its international coffee and tea business. During his tenure as president of Campbell North America, a position he held since 2010, Connolly was responsible for the company's largest division, the company said.

UTRECHT, Netherlands — Sara Lee has acquired an ultra-premium tea business based in Massachusetts.

The company said it acquired Tea Forté, a company founded in 2003 by former Museum of Modern Art designer Peter Hewitt, for an undisclosed sum. The acquisition, Sara Lee said, strategically fits the company's strategy to spin off its CoffeeTeaCo business. CoffeeTeaCo will retain the current management team of Tea Forté to run the business independently before integrating it into its international coffee and tea operations, Sara Lee noted.

HORSHAM, Pa. — Bimbo Bakeries USA announced that its parent company, Grupo Bimbo, will acquire the North American fresh bakery business of Sara Lee.

As part of the transaction, BBU will have to divest certain Sara Lee brands in certain markets. These include: the Sara Lee and EarthGrains brands in California; the Holsum and Milano brands in central Pennsylvania; the EarthGrains and Mrs Bairds brands in Kansas City; the EarthGrains and Healthy Choice brands in Omaha and the EarthGrains brand in Oklahoma City.

New Sara Lee Iron Kids white bread touts as much fiber as two slices of 100% whole wheat bread, in addition to added vitamin D, while Sara Lee thin style buns come in four varieties — 100% whole wheat, 100% multi-grain, honey wheat and white made with whole grain — and are a good source of whole grain, fiber and don't contain high-fructose corn syrup.

According to published reports, Sara Lee will divide its meat and coffee businesses into two separate companies. In addition to its recent transaction with SC Johnson, Sara Lee has been streamlining its business by selling off its beauty and laundry detergent portfolios to Unilever for $1.6 billion. The deal closed last month.

RACINE, Wis. — SC Johnson has inked a deal to acquire Sara Lee's global shoe care business, which includes the iconic Kiwi brand.

SC Johnson's portfolio of household products, which hosts such brands as Pledge and Windex, now will feature the Kiwi family of brands, including Sara Lee's Bama International, which sells shoe accessories in specialty channels in Europe and Canada, and Kiwi Kleen, a line of household cleaning products sold mainly in Asia Pacific using the Kiwi branding.

The company expects to complete the acquisition by mid-2011.
