Those who have visited the newly opened store on Louise Avenue in Sioux Falls, S.D., undoubtedly will see the Lewis Drug store of the future, president and CEO Mark Griffin told Drug Store News in a recent interview.

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. — Welcome to Louise Avenue in Sioux Falls, S.D. — the home of the “new face” of Lewis Drug.


Here within this new store, consumers will experience a larger, revamped pharmacy department with wood flooring, lifestyle images and a waiting area with televisions and refreshments. The beauty area has a more upscale look and feel, and there’s also a walk-in cooler that runs about 100 linear ft. and houses both beverages and adult beverages, including mini-kegs and chilled wine.

Hy-Vee has opened its latest store, in Sioux Falls, S.D., the grocery and retail pharmacy chain said.

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. — Hy-Vee has opened its latest store in Sioux Falls, S.D., the grocery and retail pharmacy chain said.

Hy-Vee acquired the building, formerly a Sunshine Foods store, in September as part of the same transaction that included the opening of another Sioux Falls store and a store in Windom, Minn.

The 45,000-sq.-ft. store will employ 45 former employees of Sunshine Foods.

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. — While pharmacy obviously continues to be an important part of the business, Lewis Drug — which has larger store footprints of 40,000 sq. ft. to 50,000 sq. ft. — is placing an even greater emphasis on the front end, said Mark Griffin, president and CEO of the 33-store chain.
