Quality Care Pharmacies joins NCPA

The National Community Pharmacists Association's membership has expanded to include a buying and advertising cooperative that offers rebates and signage to independently owned pharmacies.

Quality Care Pharmacies — a Springville, N.Y.-based company that boasts more than 450 member pharmacies in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Connecticut and Ohio — has joined NCPA, the association said.

United Water, NCPA encourage proper disposal of medications

United Water and the National Community Pharmacists Association on Thursday announced a partnership to encourage people throughout the United States to properly dispose of their unused or expired medications in an environmentally friendly manner.

HARRINGTON PARK, N.J. — United Water and the National Community Pharmacists Association on Thursday announced a partnership to encourage people throughout the United States to properly dispose of their unused or expired medications in an environmentally friendly manner.

A major part of the campaign will center around the NCPA's website dedicated to the program — DisposeMyMeds.org — that directs people to their local independent pharmacy where they can drop off their unused medications.

Jaeger resigns from CEO post at NCPA

Just four months after being appointed EVP and CEO of the National Community Pharmacists Association, Kathleen Jaeger is making an exit.

ALEXANDRIA, Va. — Just four months after being appointed EVP and CEO of the National Community Pharmacists Association, Kathleen Jaeger is making an exit.

The NCPA said that Jaeger will be leaving the organization to pursue other opportunities. Effective immediately, Douglas Hoey, who has served as NCPA's COO since 2005, will assume the chief executive role.

ALEXANDRIA, Va. The National Community Pharmacists Association Tuesday unveiled its complete list of newly installed officers and executive committee members for 2010-2011. All are practicing pharmacists who will serve one-year terms.

 

The independent pharmacy group tapped the new slate of leaders at its 112th Annual Convention and Trade Exposition, held Oct. 23 to 27 in Philadelphia.
