BENTONVILLE, Ark. — In honor of American Heart Month, Sam's Club announced it will be hosting free heart health screenings on Feb. 11 at all locations with a pharmacy.

From 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., members and guests can receive total cholesterol, HDL, glucose, body mass index and blood-pressure tests for free. During the screenings, Sam's Club pharmacies also will offer free samples of related items, the company said.

BENTONVILLE, Ark. — Sam's Club announced that it is teaming up with the Salvation Army and Off the Field professional football players' wives association for the fifth annual Dream Drive for the Salvation Army.

Twenty pre-selected families from the Salvation Army Adopt-A-Family program in 10 different cities will receive $1,000 worth of gifts, including food, clothes, personal items and toys from Sam's Club. As part of the Dream Drive campaign, Off the Field representatives will be shopping at their local Sam's Clubs on Dec. 8 to purchase items for these families.

The Lily.B Skincare line has landed a second pilot launch in 20 Costco stores around the nation, the beauty company has announced.

PHOENIX — The Lily.B Skincare line has landed a second pilot launch in 20 Costco stores around the nation, the beauty company has announced.

In keeping with the Lily.B philosophy to “bring beauty to all the lives we touch,” Bishop is partnering with Toys for Tots and will donate $1 of every eye cream sold in Costco stores.

In addition, Lily.B was selected last week to be featured in the exclusive Country Music Awards' talent lounge. Founder Liz Bishop will be in Nashville, Tenn., for the CMA Awards from Nov. 7 to 9.

WAYNE, Pa. — Emerson Group on Wednesday named Shane Brown to the group's Walmart team.

Brown comes to Emerson from Bayer HealthCare where he held a variety of roles in sales and category management for Bayer’s over-the-counter businesses working with the Walmart account. His primary responsibility was working as category captain to Walmart on the cough, cold and allergy category. Brown utilized his knowledge of the cough, cold and allergy category in working with Bayer internal brand teams to develop and launch new items, as well as setting brand strategies.

As part of the changes, the role of chief marketing officer will be eliminated. As a result, Kim Feil will be leaving the company effective Sept. 30.

WAYNE, Pa. — Former CVS/pharmacy product development manager Elizabeth Karvonen has joined the Emerson Group, where she will work on the beauty and personal care businesses at CVS/pharmacy.


Prior to joining the Emerson Group, Karvonen was a product development manager at CVS/pharmacy, where she developed private-label beauty and personal care products. In her first year, she developed more than 160 private-label products and was responsible for supply chain and logistics for the private-label beauty and personal care categories.

NEW YORK — Pacific Northwest retailer Bartell Drugs recently used social networking to attract attention to its photo department, according to published reports.

Online news site GeekWire reported that Bartell sponsored a "Free Print Weekend" promotion last week in which people who "liked" the Seattle-based chain's Facebook page received up to 20 free photo prints from its Kodak picture kiosks. Bartell operates 58 stores in the Puget Sound region, the metropolitan area around Seattle.
