PARSIPPANY, N.J. — Reckitt Benckiser on Tuesday announced its purchase of the LiceMD shampoo brand from Combe.

LiceMD is a pesticide-free treatment that helps control lice outbreaks with dimethicone, an effective synthetic lubricant with a well-known safety profile that is odorless, nonirritating and hypoallergenic, the company said.

PARSIPPANY, N.J. — Reckitt Benckiser has narrowed its carbon footprint by 11% in 2010, the company said.

The company, which owns such brands as Clearasil, Lysol and Woolite, said the reduction is part of its Carbon20 program, which aims to reduce its products' impact on climate change by 20% by 2020.

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. — Reckitt Benckiser on Monday supplemented its Mucinex and Delsym cough-cold portfolio with the addition of Cepacol from Combe.

Combe also announced the completion of its cough-cold and skin care businesses to the British conglomerate, along with its foot care brand Odor-Eaters to personal care company Blistex.

AMITYVILLE, N.Y. Hi-Tech Pharmacal will market a generic version of a drug used to treat opioid dependence, the company said Monday.

 

Hi-Tech announced that it would market buprenorphine hydrochloride in the 2-mg and 8-mg strengths through its Midlothian Labs division. The drug is in the form of a tablet placed under the tongue.

 

 

The tablets are a generic version of Reckitt Benckiser’s Subutex, which had sales of $75 million during the 12-month period ended in June, according to IMS Health.

The drug maker announced the approval of Suboxone (buprenorphine and naloxone), a drug delivered through a fast-dissolving film placed under the tongue. The film is based on a technology known as PharmFilm, made by MonoSol Rx.
