"It definitely seemed that we had even better engagement in using Twitter at NACDS RxImpact this year than I think we've had at pretty much any other NACDS event," said Chris Krese, SVP marketing, communications and media relations for the National Association of Chain Drug Stores.

Walgreens on Thursday took its failed negotiations with Express Scripts to Twitter, paying the social media site to promote the hashtag #ILoveWalgreens and setting off a barrage of tweets by tweeting "It's time to take a stand against @ExpressScripts. Tell them people want a choice by tweeting hashtag #ILoveWalgreens." According to Twitter, Walgreens tweeted 126 times on Thursday.

PARSIPPANY, N.J. — FiberChoice is encouraging Americans to make healthy decisions and lifestyle changes with a new Twitter campaign.

Now through May 19, the brand is asking consumers to tweet their healthy choices — as it relates to nutrition, fitness or overall lifestyle — by using the #MYCHOICE hashtag and @reply FiberChoice. FiberChoice said it will sponsor one healthy choice each day through its sweepstakes and at the end of the campaign, award a grand-prize spa vacation.

WASHINGTON — The Council for Responsible Nutrition on Wednesday announced a charity drive “tweet-a-thon” to be hosted at its Life…supplemented Twitter site, @wannabwell. The program’s “Spread the Love Tweet-a-thon” will take place Feb. 14 through 18 to raise money for Vitamin Angels, an organization dedicated to reducing child mortality worldwide by connecting infants and children younger than 5 years old with essential micronutrients.
