GLENVIEW, Ill. — Kraft Foods has unveiled Kraft Fresh Take, the company's latest mealtime solution, in dairy aisles nationwide.

Kraft Fresh Take combines Kraft Natural cheeses and seasoned breadcrumbs that are designed to provide a "flavor upgrade" to ordinary dishes, the company said. The product launch also includes a website, KraftFreshTake.com, which houses recipes that use Kraft Fresh Take as an ingredient.

PRINCETON, N.J. — Days after its launch of a generic version of Pfizer's cholesterol-lowering drug Lipitor, Ranbaxy Labs has launched a related drug as an authorized generic.

Ranbaxy announced the launch of an authorized generic version of Caduet (atorvastatin and amlodipine besylate). The drug is used to treat patients with high blood pressure and high cholesterol. Mylan launched a generic version of the drug on Thursday.

The website, RxSafetyMatters.org, is designed to help healthcare professionals, police and community organizations combat prescription drug diversion and abuse. Purdue is the developer of OxyContin (oxycodone), an extended-release painkiller that is frequently a target of drug abusers.

MISSISSAUGA, Ontario — PepsiCo's Canada operations has introduced its first soft drink bottle made from 100% recycled PET plastic.

The company said that its 7UP soft drink will be available in the EcoGreen bottle in Canada. With the introduction of the 7UP EcoGreen bottle in Canada, PepsiCo Beverages Canada will reduce the amount of virgin plastic used by approximately 6 million lbs. over the course of one year.

MORRISTOWN, N.J. — A subsidiary of Watson Pharmaceuticals has launched a treatment for herpes infections, the company said Monday.

Watson Labs launched famciclovir tablets in the 125-mg, 250-mg and 500-mg strengths. The drug is a generic version of Novartis’ Famvir and is used to treat cold sores and genital herpes in patients with and without HIV.

Famvir and generic versions had sales of about $197 million in 2010, according to IMS Health.
