Startup beauty brand Julep Beauty has raised $30 million in additional funding from investors, bringing its total venture funding to $56 million.

SEATTLE — Startup beauty brand Julep Beauty has raised $30 million in additional funding from investors, bringing its total venture funding to $56 million.

"Julep combines tech savvy, a next-generation distribution model and beauty industry know-how in one fast-growing package," stated Mike Kwatinetz, general partner of Azure Capital Partners. "It's the only beauty brand to truly leverage crowdsourcing and social feedback to create new makeup and skincare products."

NEW YORK — Target has introduced a section of its website that features products popular on Pinterest.

The Target Awesome Shop includes products from several lines, including beauty, each of which is among those most-pinned on Pinterest in the last few days, but only if they have at least a four-star guest review.

The website is currently in beta testing and was put together "in a matter of a few weeks" by Target's Rapid Accelerated Development team, a small group of digital experts working for the company.

LOS ANGELES — More consumers are considering taking a break from their social media platforms, in large part because there are too many of them, according to a MyLife.com national survey on social media behavior released Tuesday. According to the MyLife 2013 Connecting and Communicating Online: State of Social Media study, 42% of online adults manage multiple social networking profiles — a number that jumps to 61% for those 18-34. More than half of all respondents (51%) belong to more social networks or visit their networks more frequently than two years ago.

FAIRFIELD, Calif. — Jelly Belly is slated to offer a store promotion with photo sharing website Shutterfly in spring 2012.

Jelly Belly said that consumers who purchase two specially marked bags of Jelly Belly jelly beans or Jelly Bean Chocolate Dips will receive five free photo cards that can be redeemed online to create personalized cards using their own photos or designs. The on-pack consumer promotion launches Jan. 3, 2012 and runs through July.

Jelly Belly bean promotional packages will ship to stores Dec, 15 through March 31, 2012.
