DELRAY BEACH, Fla. — Polaroid unveiled its new concept, Polaroid Fotobar, here, in February, with plans to open at least 10 locations this year. The 2,000-sq.-ft. store is positioned both as a place to shop and a center for recreation and entertainment, allowing customers to release "trapped" photos and display them as premium-quality art. Customers can select pictures taken with their phones and wirelessly transmit them to a bar-top workstation for ordering prints or instantly uploading them to Facebook, Instagram, Picasa and other platforms.

Walgreens introduced several updates to its mobile app, most notably the ability to print from Instagram, as well as upload more than five pictures simultaneously for in-store prints.

“We know that many people enjoy customizing their photos to reflect the uniqueness of each shot,” stated Jasbir Patel, senior director and general merchandise manager, photo and e-commerce, Walgreens. “Aligning our QuickPrints technology to Instagram helps our customers make those digital images come to life in print form.”

Jelly Belly is slated to offer a store promotion with photo sharing website Shutterfly in spring 2012.

FAIRFIELD, Calif. — Jelly Belly is slated to offer a store promotion with photo sharing website Shutterfly in spring 2012.

Jelly Belly said that consumers who purchase two specially marked bags of Jelly Belly jelly beans or Jelly Bean Chocolate Dips will receive five free photo cards that can be redeemed online to create personalized cards using their own photos or designs. The on-pack consumer promotion launches Jan. 3, 2012 and runs through July.

Jelly Belly bean promotional packages will ship to stores Dec, 15 through March 31, 2012.
