The American Pharmacists Association has announced the selection of the 2014 Awards and Honors Program recipients.

WASHINGTON — The American Pharmacists Association has announced the selection of the 2014 Awards and Honors Program recipients. Honorees will be officially recognized at the APhA Annual Meeting and Exposition in Orlando, March 28 to 31.

WASHINGTON — The American Pharmacists Association's philanthropic wing has appointed five new members to its board of directors, the group said Monday.

The APhA Foundation announced in September the official installment of Stuart Haines, professor of and vice chairman for clinical services in the Unviersity of Maryland School of Pharmacy's Department of Pharmacy Practice and Science in Baltimore, as well as a clinical pharmacy specialist in primary care at the West Palm Beach, Fla., VA Medical Center.

The Southern Illinois University Edwardsville School of Pharmacy has promoted pharmacy practice professor J. Mark Ruscin to chairman of the Department of Pharmacy Practice.

EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. — The Southern Illinois University Edwardsville School of Pharmacy has promoted pharmacy practice professor J. Mark Ruscin to chairman of the Department of Pharmacy Practice, the school said Friday.

Pharmacy school dean Gireesh Gupchup made the announcement following a national search. Ruscin's appointment became effective Thursday.

WASHINGTON — The American Pharmacists Association announced that nominations are being accepted for its practitioner awards and honors, which are administered by the APhA Academy of Pharmacy Practice and Management.

APhA said that the awards, which will be presented at the APhA annual meeting and exposition in Los Angeles in March 2013, include the new APhA-APPM Pharmacy Management Excellence award and three new APhA-APPM Distinguished Achievement awards. Nominees are being sought for the following awards and honors:

WASHINGTON — The American Pharmacists Association is seeking nominations for its annual practitioner and scientific awards and honors, the organization said Wednesday.

The APhA said it would present the winners at the annual APhA Annual Meeting and Exposition in New Orleans next March. The APhA Academy of Pharmacy Practice and Management administers the practitioner awards and honors, while the APhA Academy of Pharmaceutical Research and Science administers the scientific awards and honors. The deadline for submissions is Sept. 15.

WASHINGTON — The APhA Foundation said Tuesday that it has re-elected two prominent pharmacy leaders to its board of directors. Dennis Helling and Eugene Lutz will be officially installed at the American Pharmacist Association’s 2011 Annual Meeting in Seattle on March 25 to 28.
