PepsiCo appointed a 17-year company veteran to a new post ...

PURCHASE, N.Y. One of the largest food and beverage makers in the world appointed a 17-year company veteran to a new post.

PepsiCo announced that Jamie Caulfield would succeed Lynn Tyson as the company's SVP investor relations. Caulfield, who has held various roles at the company, most recently served as PepsiCo's VP mergers and acquisitions, in which he successfully completed a number of key strategic acquisitions and joint ventures.

PURCHASE, N.Y. PepsiCo reportedly is making a lower-calorie Gatorade product line targeted at athletes.

 

PepsiCo's G Series Fit line of Gatorade includes a pre-workout energy bar and a fruit-based protein drink, according to published reports. The line builds on the success of other lower-calorie Gatorade products, including the brand's G2 line.

 

G Series Fit is slated to hit retail shelves in April.

PURCHASE, N.Y. — A former Wyeth executive has been named PepsiCo's EVP global corporate affairs.

Tim Cost, who will report to PepsiCo chairman and CEO Indra Nooyi, officially will join the company Dec. 1. In the newly created position, Cost will be responsible for strengthening and protecting PepsiCo's corporate reputation and strategically aligning its communications, public policy, foundation, investor relations, global health and agricultural policy, and regulatory agendas.

PURCHASE, N.Y., and PITTSBURGH One of the world's largest food and beverage businesses is teaming up with a specialty retailer of nutritional products to develop and sell fortified coconut water products.

PepsiCo and GNC said its Phenom brand will launch during second quarter 2011 and exclusively will be sold at GNC stores and GNC.com. The companies added that the line will address the growing demands of health-conscious consumers for natural products that help them with their daily regimen.

The company, however, had fewer shares outstanding in the latest quarter.

The lemon-lime soda has been transformed into Sierra Mist Natural, to reflect that it's only made with natural ingredients, PepsiCo said.

DALLAS —PepsiCo’s Frito-Lay North America has added two new varieties to its lower-sodium snack offerings. Fritos Lightly Salted corn chips and Ruffles Lightly Salted potato chips are the newest entries to join Lay’s Lightly Salted potato chips in the brand’s lineup of reduced-sodium snacks. The new products contain 50% less sodium per 1 oz. serving than their original counterparts.
