Mariano will be responsible for leading all marketing programs, branding and communications at Laura Geller Makeup. Previously, she has held senior management positions at such companies as L'Oreal, Coty and Mane USA.

The Swiss drug maker announced Monday the appointment of Robert Karsunky as SVP and CFO, effective Nov. 1. He succeeds Richard Croarkin, who has served as Alcon’s CFO since August 2007.

CITY OF INDUSTRY, Calif. Markwins International has hired former Johnson & Johnson executive Michael Cole to serve as its Walmart team leader.

In this role, Cole will be responsible for both divisions at Walmart; Markwins Beauty Product, featuring the Wet 'n Wild and Black Radiance brands; and Markwins International, featuring The Color Workshop, ACT and Barbie.

Cole will report to Shawn Haynes, SVP sales and marketing for Markwins Beauty Products, and Eric Weeks, VP sales for Markwins International.

DEERFIELD, Ill. Walgreens announced Thursday that Jeffrey Berkowitz, a former SVP at drug maker Merck, has joined the company.

Berkowitz will serve as Walgreens' SVP pharmaceutical development and market access, responsible for the overall pharmacy contracting strategy for the company, both on the pharmaceutical manufacturing side and on the retail payer side, the drug store chain said. He will report to Walgreens' pharmacy services president Kermit Crawford.

Campbell Soup Co.'s chief executive is retiring at the end of the company's fiscal year....

CAMDEN, N.J. Campbell Soup Co.'s chief executive is retiring at the end of the company's fiscal year.

 

Doug Conant will step down from his role as president and CEO, a position he has held since 2001, on July 31, 2011, the company said Tuesday. Campbell's board of directors appointed EVP and COO Denise Morrison to lead the company at the beginning of fiscal 2012. Morrison also has been elected a director of the company as of Oct. 1.

In his new role at Lansinoh, Barclay will coordinate all North American marketing activities while leading the brand marketing, consumer relations and professional relations teams. He will report to Lansinoh North America president Diane Manwaring. Prior to joining Lansinoh, Barclay was the brand manager for SC Johnson's wax division and category manager for Frito-Lay's U.K. division.

GREENWICH, Conn. Mary Elizabeth Deming Combe, who founded health and beauty care company Combe Inc. in 1949 with her husband, passed away at her home on Sept. 20. She was 94.

In 1938, Combe graduated from Ohio State University and married the late Ivan Combe. Eleven years later, they founded Combe Inc. and built it into one of the largest privately owned health and beauty care companies in the country. The team created such well-known brands as Clearasil, Just For Men hair color and Odor-Eaters.
