The American Pharmacists Association’s Academy of Student Pharmacists has named Phillip R. Oppenheimer, who has led University of the Pacific’s Thomas J. Long School of Pharmacy and Health Sciences for almost two decades, as the 2014 Outstanding Dean.

STOCKTON, Calif. — The American Pharmacists Association’s Academy of Student Pharmacists has named Phillip R. Oppenheimer, who has led University of the Pacific’s Thomas J. Long School of Pharmacy and Health Sciences for almost two decades, as the 2014 Outstanding Dean.

The award recognizes Oppenheimer for promoting the education of student pharmacists through community service, leadership and professional activities.

Oppenheimer will receive the award during the American Pharmacists Association annual meeting in Orlando on March 28.

Four of the new products — Advantage Treatment Spray for dogs, Advantage Treatment Spray for cats, Advantage Treatment Shampoo for dogs and Advantage Treatment Shampoo for cats — aim to give pet owners an array of options for pest treatment.

The APhA said the candidates for the position are Virginia Commonwealth University School of Pharmacy professor and community pharmacy residency program director Jean-Venable Goode and Newport Beach, Calif.-based Westcliff Compounding Pharmacy owner Michael Pavlovich.
