Grocer H-E-B has introduced in March its own line of organic products that focus on everyday pantry staples such as canned tomatoes and vegetables, cereal, crackers, fruit and specialty spreads and coffee.

SAN ANTONIO — Grocer H-E-B has introduced in March its own line of organic products that focus on everyday pantry staples such as canned tomatoes and vegetables, cereal, crackers, fruit and specialty spreads and coffee.

The new H-E-B Organics line, which also includes items throughout the produce and market departments like cheese and various beef products, is USDA-certified organic, which prohibits the use of GMOs.

NEW YORK — Target is offering new natural and organic food products as part of its Simply Balanced private label, according to published reports.

The Associated Press reported that the line would start with such products as drinks and snacks, and was an outgrowth of similar products sold under the Archer Farms label.

Campbell Soup Co. announced it has entered into an agreement to acquire Plum Organics, a provider of premium organic foods and snacks that serve the nutritional needs of babies, toddlers and children.

CAMDEN, N.J. — Campbell Soup Company today announced it has entered into an agreement to acquire Plum Organics, a provider of premium organic foods and snacks that serve the nutritional needs of babies, toddlers and children.

The company, based in Emeryville, Calif., is the No. 2 brand of organic baby food in the U.S. and the No. 4 baby food brand overall.

Hain Celestial Group, the company that makes Celestial Seasonings tea and other products, has purchased organic baby food company Ella's Kitchen Group, the company said.

LAKE SUCCESS, N.Y. — Hain Celestial Group, the company that makes Celestial Seasonings tea and other products, has purchased organic baby food company Ella's Kitchen Group, the company said.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed, but the company said Ella's had $70 million in sales last year. The company markets its products in the United States, United Kingdom and Scandinavia, offering 80 products for babies, toddlers and small children. In addition, Ella's founder Paul Lindley will become CEO of Hain Celestial US's new Global Infant, Toddler and Kids Division.
