Evol Foods is marketing its line of natural and organic frozen meals and snacks through Target stores around the country, the company said Tuesday.

BOULDER, Colo. — Evol Foods is marketing its line of natural and organic frozen meals and snacks through Target stores around the country, the company said Tuesday.

The Boulder, Colo.-based packaged-food maker said it would promote the products by offering discounts, which started Sunday and will run through June 15, allowing customers to purchase two frozen entree bowls for $7 and two frozen burritos for $4.

NEW YORK — Colgate announced on Thursday that North American net sales rose 5.5% as new product launches, such as Colgate Optic White mouthwash, helped drive volume growth and market share gains in the United States.

North America, which accounts for 18% of company sales, posted a net sales increase of 5.5%. Organic sales also rose 5.5% during the quarter.

NEW YORK — A majority of surveyed adults in the United States regards organic as an excuse to charge more for food, according to a new study.

The March Harris Poll of 2,276 adults found that those expressing concern for the environment grew from 31% last year to 38% this year, but 59% of respondents saw labeling foods and other products as organic was an excuse to charge more.

Nassau Candy announced Monday the introduction of GoNaturally Organic Hard Candies, manufactured by Hillside Candy and free of artificial sweeteners, preservatives, gluten, cholesterol, trans fats, artificial flavors and colors.

Certified organic by the Department of Agriculture, the candies come in flavors such as honey, cherry, apple, pomegranate, iced mint mango, honey-lemon, blood orange and ginger.
