The Cardinal Health Foundation and the Ohio State University College of Pharmacy have announced the introduction of the Medication Safety toolkit, the fifth in a series of interactive toolkits designed to help reduce the abuse of prescription drugs.

DUBLIN, Ohio — The Cardinal Health Foundation and the Ohio State University College of Pharmacy have announced the introduction of the Medication Safety toolkit, the fifth in a series of interactive toolkits designed to help reduce the abuse of prescription drugs.

The Medication Safety toolkit is designed to arm parents, teachers, organizational leaders and health professionals across the country with the necessary resources to discuss the issue of medication safety with elementary-aged children.

The groups also announced its new partnership with the American Society of Consultant Pharmacists to promote the toolkit among older adults and their caregivers.

With funding support from the Cardinal Health Foundation, APhA will encourage its pharmacist and student pharmacist members to join the fight to prevent prescription drug abuse by tapping into two communication toolkits developed by the Ohio State University College of Pharmacy and funded by the Cardinal Health Foundation.

DUBLIN, Ohio — The Cardinal Health Foundation is calling on nonprofits in select areas to apply for grant funding to support local efforts to prevent the abuse and misuse of prescription medications.

The program, which is an extension of the foundation's GenerationRx Initiative it developed with the Ohio State University College of Pharmacy, invites nonprofits from the following areas to apply for grants ranging from $5,000 to $15,000:

  • Albuquerque, N.M.;

  • Central Ohio;

DUBLIN, Ohio — The Cardinal Health Foundation has strengthened its alliance with the Ohio State University College of Pharmacy to address prescription drug abuse among teens.

The Cardinal Health Foundation and the college's GenerationRx youth toolkit provides healthcare providers, pharmacists, parents, teachers, youth group leaders and other concerned citizens with unique, interactive resources to educate teens about the realities and dangers of prescription drug abuse, the Cardinal Health Foundation said.
