NASHVILLE, Tenn. — The Little Clinic and King Soopers have partnered with University of Colorado health professionals to develop new initiatives, including a clinical affiliation agreement, to expand health-and-wellness services.

The CU School of Medicine, College of Nursing and Skaggs School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus, along with University Physicians Inc., King Soopers and The Little Clinic have entered into a clinical affiliation agreement.

The dean of the Kansas University School of Pharmacy has won an award in recognition for service to the elderly, according to published reports.

LAWRENCE, Kan. — The dean of the Kansas University School of Pharmacy has won an award in recognition for service to the elderly, according to published reports.

The Lawrence Journal World reported Monday that dean Ken Audus had won the Douglas County Senior Center’s Seaver Award.

The article noted that the school has started many programs for local residents, such as health fairs and free bone-density screenings.

EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. — A pharmacy school in Illinois is the first of its kind to win 1-of-4 national 2011 Council for Higher Education Accreditation Awards.

The CHEA gave the award to the Southern Illinois University Edwardsville School of Pharmacy. The award recognizes schools that the CHEA considers exceptional in developing and applying evidence of student-learning outcomes to improve higher education quality and accountability.

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — A coming-soon pharmacy school has a new dean, according to published reports.

The Charleston, W.Va., Gazette reported Thursday that Marshall University’s pharmacy school, which has yet to be created, had named Kevin Yingling as its founding dean. The university’s board of governors authorized the school to begin its application process with the American Council for Pharmacy Education to establish the school in October.
