Lemonade-and-tea drinks — sometimes called “Arnold Palmers” —  have become more popular with consumers. Arizona Beverage Co.’s Arnold Palmer line had strong growth last year, and Snapple and Sweet Leaf both launched lemonade-and-tea beverages.

Sport and energy drinks are the hot spots of the beverage category. The sport segment, powered by such low-calorie products as PepsiCo’s Gatorade G2 and Coca-Cola’s Powerade Zero, has continued to register double-digit sales increases.


Energy drinks also continue to deliver double-digit sales jumps fueled by consumers eternally in search of a jump-start. Category leader Red Bull is closely followed by Monster Energy, which is pumping innovative new products into the category.


NEW YORK — Arizona Beverages USA and Jack Nicklaus have announced the latest addition to the popular Jack Nicklaus Golden Bear line.

Jack Nicklaus Golden Bear Ten original lemonade contains 5% juice and honey, with 10 calories per serving.

Golden Bear Ten original lemonade has begun distribution in the Northeast and will continue to rollout nationally throughout 2012. The 23-oz. can is pre-priced at 99 cents.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A line of ready-to-drink functional coffee blends now has three new flavors.

Bean & Body Coffee, which is available in select regions throughout the United States, now features vegan, horchata and coconut flavors. Offered in an 8-oz. can, each flavor is 100 calories or less and are all-natural, gluten-free and Kosher certified.

The new Bean & Body Coffee flavors will hit markets in early May.

CHICAGO — Tropicana is giving its Trop50 brand a refreshing boost.

Just in time for summer, Trop50 has debuted lemonade and raspberry lemonade beverages. Each variety contains no artificial sweeteners and 50% less sugar and calories.

To celebrate the launch, Trop50 lemonade and raspberry lemonade will be supported in the brand's "Girlfriends" advertising campaign, which launched last September and features actress Jane Krakowski.

Trop50's lineup also includes original Trop50 orange juice and farmstand apple juice.
