Walgreens on Monday celebrated the reopening of two Joplin, Mo., stores within three months after one was severely damaged and the other completely demolished by a tornado that swept through the city May 22.

CVS Caremark and CVS/pharmacy colleagues in the region collected and donated first aid and personal care supplies valued at approximately $35,000 to local relief efforts in Joplin. In addition, CVS Caremark has made a $5,000 donation to the American Red Cross.

DEERFIELD, Ill. — Walgreens has donated $100,000 to the American Red Cross to aid those affected by the storms and tornadoes that recently hit the Southeast.

The drug store chain also is providing nonperishable food, medical supplies and water directly to local shelters and first responders in Alabama and Georgia. Additionally, cleaning supplies and three truckloads of water also have been donated.
