ALEXANDRIA, Va. — The National Association of Chain Drug Stores on Wednesday urged Congress to pass the Prescription Drug User Fee Act, legislation essential to the review process for new medications and that also contains important pro-patient, pro-pharmacy provisions.

The U.S. House and Senate passed their versions of PDUFA last month and worked to reconcile their individual bills into one final bill. Both chambers are expected to vote on the final conference report this week.

Lisa Boylan, former senior editor and director of print and online publishing for the Epilepsy Foundation, joins NACDS' marketing, communications and media relations team and will play a key role in external- and member-communications initiatives including NACDS websites, newsletters, media relations, social media and marketing communications related to NACDS events. Boylan will report to Chrissy Kopple, NACDS VP media relations.

This year's NACDS Marketplace Conference will take place June 23 to 26 in Denver.

NACDS and technology solutions company Inmar, an NACDS associate member, will partner to launch the NACDS Marketplace Digital Learning Center to help retailers and suppliers gain an understanding of the importance of developing and implementing a cohesive digital strategy.

The National Association of Chain Drug Stores has expressed its support for enactment of the Pharmacy Audit Integrity Program, a law that will establish standards in the pharmacy audit process conducted by pharmacy benefit management companies in the state of Minnesota.

ALEXANDRIA, Va. — The National Association of Chain Drug Stores has expressed its support for enactment of the Pharmacy Audit Integrity Program (HF 1236/SF 973) by Minnesota governor Mark Dayton. The law will establish standards in the pharmacy audit process conducted by pharmacy benefit management companies in the state of Minnesota.

NACDS sent a letter of support to Dayton prior to enactment, emphasizing the importance of this legislation in ensuring transparency in the PBM audit process.
