In 2013, NBTY supported more than 30 organizations, including Feed The Children and International Aid, with nearly $7 million in products and money to provide sustenance, nutrition and support to those who need it most, the supplement manufacturer announced.

RONKONKOMA, N.Y. — In 2013, NBTY supported more than 30 organizations, including Feed The Children and International Aid, with nearly $7 million in products and money to provide sustenance, nutrition and support to those who need it most, the supplement manufacturer announced Thursday. 

NBTY's donations to Feed The Children are estimated to have reached almost 450,000 beneficiaries, the company stated.

As an operating executive, Arnold will provide strategic guidance to Carlyle professionals throughout the investment process, from sourcing to acquisition to exit and advise portfolio company executives on management, operational, branding and growth strategies.

NBTY has agreed to pay $2.1 million to provide refunds to consumers who purchased certain multivitamins in its Disney and Marvel Heroes line.

RONKONKOMA, N.Y. — NBTY on Monday named Jeffrey Nagel to the CEO post, succeeding Scott Rudolph, who will maintain his position as chairman.

Nagel comes to NBTY from General Electric, where he held senior leadership positions in several GE businesses addressing a variety of end markets, including oil and gas, consumer electronics, technology and aviation. He most recently served as head of GE Oil and Gas Global Services and was based in Florence, Italy.

RONKONKOMA, N.Y. NBTY on Tuesday announced the recall of its Air Shield, Air Protector, Immune System Support and AirHealth Effervescent 10-tablet containers, and its Stick Packs 8-stick containers -- all private-label versions of Airborne -- because they may contain undeclared soy, according to a posting of the release on the Food and Drug Administration website.

The recall impacts a host of pharmacy retailers, including CVS, Safeway, Supervalu, Target, Walgreens and Walmart. The products all fall under NBTY’s Leiner Health Solutions umbrella.
