Sandoz announced the U.S. launch of lansoprazole capsules amoxicillin capsules, USP, and clarithromycin tablets, USP, the generic version of Prevpac.

PRINCETON, N.J. — Sandoz announced the U.S. launch of lansoprazole capsules amoxicillin capsules, USP, and clarithromycin tablets, USP, the generic version of Prevpac.

The drug is used to eliminate the H. pylori infection in patients with duodenal ulcer disease. It's comprised of amoxicillin and clarithromycin, which are antibiotic medicines, as well as lansoprazole, a proton pump inhibitor that helps decrease production of excess stomach acid, the company said.

ATLANTA — More smokers would quit if state Medicaid programs covered more cessation treatments and removed barriers to coverage, according to a Centers for Disease Control and Prevention study published in Thursday's Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report.  

“There’s evidence suggesting that smokers enrolled in Medicaid, like other smokers, want to quit and will take advantage of covered cessation treatments to help them quit for good,” commented Stephen Babb, co-author of the article.

The bill allows a pharmacist to substitute an interchangeable biosimilar product for a prescribed biological product if certain conditions are met. It requires the board of pharmacy to maintain a website that lists the biosimilar biological products that are determined to be interchangeable.

The antibiotic is used for the treatment of bacterial vaginosis, an infection caused by an imbalance in the normal bacteria of vagina.

As a result, scientists have turned to biomarkers to provide some indication of whether AD is likely to develop.

MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. — GlaxoSmithKline on Wednesday began alerting consumers that some bottles of its Alli over-the-counter weight-loss medication have been tampered with. "Consumer safety is GSK's primary concern," the company stated. "We have initiated an investigation and are working with the Food and Drug Administration."
