LONDON SOS 4 Life, a company that provides medical mobile applications, on Wednesday announced the launch of its Health Records iPhone app dedicated to providing peace of mind during a medical crisis while in a foreign country.

The application stores a patient’s most important medical information, including allergies, medical conditions and medication history in a health record on a mobile phone, and provides an immediate translation of that health record into Spanish, German, French, Italian, Portuguese or Dutch without the need of an Internet connection.

Managing a health condition can be difficult enough, but organizing personal medical information can be even more time-consuming, according to a study commissioned by the Mayo Clinic and Microsoft, which operates the online resource HealthVault. BOCA RATON, Fla. More consumers will be able to store medication history online using Microsoft’s HealthVault under a new partnership between Microsoft and Chain Drug Consortium.

 

“We are excited to partner with Microsoft to provide our members’ consumers security-enhanced access to their personal health records using Microsoft’s new electronic health platform technology,” Chain Drug Consortium president and chief executive officer Edward Frisch said.
