According to a new survey of more than 1,000 online consumers from retail personalization technology vendor Synqera, U.S. consumers still prefer promotional content and coupons from traditional print media (magazine, newsletter/flyer, newspaper) (75%), found online (72%), or received after a purchase (62%) for future shopping.

PENSACOLA, Fla. — Eco Depot announced that it has signed a letter of intent with Water Technology Development to distribute a new portable water purification device called the WaterGizzi. Eco Depot plans to market the product as part of its eco-friendly product line, which also includes the Click and Pour and the recently acquired WaterGeeks filtration brand.

SWTC was founded in 1995 when it launched its first product line, EO. On the heels of the 2012 launch of the EveryOne line, the company has decided to rebrand to more specifically reflect a parent company to both of the product lines — EO and EveryOne brands, the company stated.

LATHAM, N.Y. —- Price Chopper, QuickCare and Ellis Medicine have teamed up to open QuickCare walk-in clinics in Price Chopper stores in Latham, N.Y. and Malta, N.Y.

The three organizations created the Capital Region partnership to offer residents access to more convenient and efficient healthcare. QuickCare, staffed by an Ellis Medicine nurse practitioner, physician or physician assistant, are walk-in health centers that offer patients immediate help for common ailments and provide some well-care and screening services.

Even as online shopping continues to grow, more U.S. shoppers are planning to make purchases from physical stores in 2014, according to a survey by Accenture. In the “seamless retailing” study, 21% of U.S. shoppers said they plan to increase their in-store purchasing, up from just 9% in last year’s study.

Consumers can use the Rx Search tool on the website to find prescription drug coupouns, which can be printed or sent to a user's email address or mobile phone. Conducted by the online community WomensForum.com, the "Womensforum.com Supermarket Moms Survey" also found that nearly half of grocery-seeking moms (49%) see it as a frequent occurrence.

Most mobile shoppers redeemed a coupon directly from their mobile device last year, according to a recent study from shopping app Key Ring, which is part of G/O Digital, a Gannett company.

DALLAS — Most mobile shoppers redeemed a coupon directly from their mobile device last year, according to a recent study from shopping app Key Ring, which is part of G/O Digital, a Gannett company.

The survey, conducted by Key Ring, examined more than 25,000 mobile shoppers and found that 75% redeemed a coupon from their mobile device in 2013, up more than 5% year-over-year. The study also showed that 80% of shoppers said their perception of a retailer would change for the positive if the retailer offered mobile deals and coupons.

The fourth annual research study of shopper behavior, conducted by Cisco Consulting Services, revealed the percentage of “uber-digitals” shoppers, who regularly use their smartphones for their shopping decision-making, nearly doubled to 18% of the sampled population.

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Digital coupon use is at an all-time high with more than 2 million Meijer shoppers now subscribed to the free mPerks program, and Meijer has made significant investments to make digital savings easier for its customers, the supermarket retailer announced Tuesday.  

The Grand Rapids, Mich.-based retailer now has free Wi-Fi capability in all its stores, making it easier for customers to access their mPerks accounts and the Meijer mobile app, freeing up their smartphone data plans for other uses.

LUFKIN, Texas — According to published reports, Brookshire Brothers on Friday entered into an agreement to acquire the assets of David's Supermarkets, a 25-store chain located in North Central Texas.

"We feel like these family-owned stores align with our core value that we are a celebration of family and community," stated Jerry Johnson, president and CEO of Brookshire Brothers.  

Brookshire Brothers operates 123 outlets including grocery stores, convenience stores, free standing pharmacy, tobacco and petro locations.
