Walgreens celebrated the official opening of its latest flagship store, located at Powell and O’Farrell streets in the heart of San Francisco’s Union Square neighborhood.

DEERFIELD, Ill. — Walgreens celebrated the official opening of its latest flagship store, located at Powell and O’Farrell streets in the heart of San Francisco’s Union Square neighborhood. Like many of the flagships, the store, which opened at 10 a.m. Wednesday, is tailored to reflect the uniqueness of San Francisco at a location where Walgreens has been present since 1946.

Walgreens, American Red Cross raise more than $4 million for Superstorm Sandy victims

Walgreens and the American Red Cross on Thursday announced that more than $4 million was raised by Walgreens and Duane Reade customers nationwide for the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund since Nov. 5.

Walgreens president of community management and operations Mark Wagner said the installation was an "important milestone" for the company "[as it continues] to explore ways to expand our use of environmentally-friendly technology to reduce our energy consumption."
