At MMA, Anton will be responsible for working with strategic accounts to leverage MMA’s analytic and will work with MMA’s leadership team to drive key innovation initiatives. A member of the MMA senior leadership team, Anton will report directly to MMA CEO Pat Cummings.

MATTHEWS, N.C. — Family Dollar has appointed a new VP assistant general counsel and assistant secretary.

Family Dollar said its current assistant general counsel Beth MacDonald has been promoted to the new role. She will report to Family Dollar SVP and general counsel Jim Snyder.

MacDonald joined Family Dollar in 2010 as divisional counsel.

The holiday hiring forecast is looking positive this year as more hourly hiring managers are slated to boost their seasonal staff, according to a survey commissioned by Snagajob.

RICHMOND, Va. — The holiday hiring forecast is looking positive this year as more hourly hiring managers are slated to boost their seasonal staff, according to a survey commissioned by Snagajob.

According to the survey, 51% of hiring managers said they will hire seasonal workers this year, up eight points since 2008. Additionally, these managers plan to expand their staff by 5% (or 4.1 seasonal workers), compared with last year, and 32% above 2009.

McKinsey & Co said it earned the No. 1 spot for management, strategy, energy and healthcare consulting, as well as the No. 2 spot overall with a score of 23.23.

HOFFMAN ESTATES, Ill. — Sears Holdings announced that former UPS executive Raj Penkar is joining the company as SVP and president of the company's supply chain.

In his new role, Penkar will be accountable for all aspects of the company's supply chain, including logistics, warehousing, inventory management and distribution. Prior to joining Sears, Penkar worked at UPS for 24 years and most recently served as president of UPS' customer solutions division.

Daniel Myers — who succeeds David Brearton, now EVP and CFO of Kraft — most recently served as P&G's VP product supply, leading the supply chain function for the company's global hair care business, as well as coordination responsibilities for P&G's beauty and grooming business, including manufacturing operations that supported sales in more than 170 countries.

NEW YORK — Nearly three-quarters of Americans surveyed by Deloitte said higher prices could slow their spending in the upcoming months.

The newest survey of 1,050 consumers found that 74% of consumers believed higher prices could curb their spending, with 7-out-of-10 (71%) concerned about rising energy prices and nearly half (47%) attributing reduced spending to higher medical costs.

Sinegal earned the 22nd spot on the list. The magazine pointed out his busy travel schedule, which takes him to most of Costco’s 582 stores every year, as well as a recent trip to Asia from which he arrived in Issaquah, Wash., at 8 a.m., showered and was in the office at 9 a.m.
