High-end supermarket chain Fairway Market has introduced a hearing loop at its flagship store's deli counter for customers with hearing loss, the chain's parent company said Wednesday.

NEW YORK — High-end supermarket chain Fairway Market has introduced a hearing loop at its flagship store's deli counter for customers with hearing loss, the chain's parent company said Wednesday.

Fairway Group Holdings, based in New York, said the loop was installed in its Broadway store in Manhattan. The loop works with a person's telecoil-equipped hearing instrument or cochlear implant, allowing the employee behind the deli to speak into a microphone and transmit the signal wirelessly to the telecoil, blocking ambient background noise and amplifying the clerk's voice.

Bi-Lo Holding is the parent company of Bi-Lo and Winn-Dixie grocery stores and has hired Citigroup, Credit Suisse and Deutsche Bank in relation to going public, Reuters reported, citing unnamed sources.

In a segment of CNBC's "Mad Money" program, host Jim Cramer proclaimed "Rite Aid is back" when a caller asked for the former hedge fund manager's opinion about the Camp Hill, Pa.-based retail pharmacy chain. "Rite Aid is good. … It is an okay situation. The group is strong," Cramer said.

Cramer's proclamation only confirmed what Drug Store News has been saying for a while now, ever since it became clear that Rite Aid had hit pay dirt with its Wellness+ loyalty card program, growing sales and reversing several years of annual and quarterly losses. In April 2013, the company posted its first profitable fiscal year since 2007.

PARIS — French beauty brand L’Oréal is looking to acquire China’s Magic Holdings International, which specializes in cosmetic facials masks, for $840 million.

The proposed price is 6.30 Hong Kong dollars per share. L’Oréal’s proposal is supported by Magic’s board of directors. The transaction is subject to the approval of the Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China.

Starting in August, licensed pharmacists at more than 560 U.S. Sam's Club pharmacy locations will administer flu shots and nine immunizations recommended to help protect against diseases, such as pneumonia, shingles and whooping cough. All Sam's Club pharmacies are open to the public.
