SEATTLE — Regional drug store chain Bartell Drugs is looking for a volunteer to represent it in a bike ride to raise money for a local cancer research center.

Bartell said that through June 22, it would accept entries in a contest for a rider to represent it in Obliteride, which has the goal of enlisting 2,500 bike riders and 1,000 volunteers to raise $2.5 million for the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center in Seattle.

Amid improved consumer confidence and higher spending, May retail sales — which exclude cars, gas stations and restaurants — increased 4.8% from May 2012 and 0.6% from last month.

Coty's Class A common stock began trading on the New York Stock Exchange on Thursday under the ticker symbol COTY. As reported, the shares offered are being sold by existing Coty stockholders, and the beauty company will not receive any of the proceeds of the offering.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Emdeon has bought a company that provides pharmacy benefit and related services to state Medicaid agencies, Emdeon said.

Emdeon announced the acquisition of Goold Health Systems. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

"The acquisition expands Emdeon's position in the government pharmacy benefit administration market while enhancing our existing pharmacy benefit operations," Emdeon EVP pharmacy services Kevin Mahoney said.

MINNEAPOLIS — Target Corp. has increased quarterly payments to shareholders to 43 cents per share, the mass merchandise retailer said.

The Minneapolis-based chain said the quarterly dividend represented a 19.4% increase over its previous dividend of 36 cents per share. The dividend will be payable Sept. 10.

Costco Wholesale Corp. said it found and canceled four employees of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Japan and two employees of Iran Air in the United Kingdom who had business memberships with the club retailer. The embassy employees spent about $5,497 at the store, while the Iran Air members didn't spend any money, for a total profit of less than $168.

WASHINGTON — When it comes to making lifestyle choices, those who take dietary supplements seem to make healthier choices overall, compared with those who do not take dietary supplements, according to the most recent CRN Consumer Survey on Dietary Supplements from Ipsos Public Affairs on behalf of the Council for Responsible Nutrition.  

Consistent with years past, the survey found that 68% of U.S. adults take dietary supplements, and those supplement users are more likely than non-supplement users to also engage in certain other healthy habits.
