But in the face of unrelenting reimbursement challenges, big-chain competition and the pressures imposed by powerful pharmacy benefit managers that dictate take-it-or-leave-it contracts covering the majority of patients and prescriptions, it’s a safe bet that the vast majority of independent and small-chain pharmacy owner/operators wouldn’t trade places with any other health professional.

WAUKESHA, Wis. — Hamacher Resource Group is set to present a continuing education session for registered pharmacists at McKesson's ideaShare 2012 Conference in Las Vegas.

"The Art of Good Layout and Design," which worth 1.5 CE credits, will be held on June 25 from 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. and will show pharmacist attendees how to identify store design problems and provide steps they can take to create a productive layout to improve their customers' shopping experience. The CE session will be presented by Dave Wendland, VP and part of the owners group at HRG.

Oasis Consumer Healthcare’s Halo oral antiseptic ought to make a big splash in the 2012-2013 cough-cold season.

LAS VEGAS — Oasis Consumer Healthcare’s Halo oral antiseptic ought to make a big splash in the 2012-2013 cough-cold season. The new product launched in late February at an ECRM conference in Las Vegas and was voted “Best New Product” by retail buyers attending the event.


The Halo antiseptic spray is designed to coat the back of the throat for up to six hours to help to protect against airborne germs. Suggested retail price for Halo is $12.99, and the product will be merchandised alongside immunity system boosters in the cough-cold aisle.
